- Gómez Ojea, Carmen
- b. 1945, GijónWriterPoet, innovative novelist and short story writer, Gómez Ojea accumulated an extensive unpublished oeuvre before winning the 1981 Nadal Prize with Cantiga de agüero (Canticle of Omens). Like feminist writers seeking women's past un-recorded by history, she deals with witchcraft, superstition, "wise women", myth, magic and folklore. This blend appears variously in her published works, including the story collection Otras mujeres y Fabia (Other Women and Fabia) (1982) and Los perros de Hécate (Hecate's Hounds) (1985). More realistic depiction of her generation's repressive upbringing combines fantasy and authentic student rebellions in La novela que Marien no terminó (Marien's Unfinished Novel).Further reading- Boschetto, S.M.
